In the process of knitting on flat knitting machines, the two sides of the same piece of knitted fabric have different lengths. This is a common problem in the knitting process of sweaters. This situation often occurs even after a new machine has been used for a period of time. Here, I will discuss with you the solution to this problem, and encourage everyone!
The same piece of woven fabric varies in length from side to side, and in some places it may be called "pull the flag". This phenomenon can be divided into two situations: first, the length of the single-sided fabric is different from left to right; second, the length of the single-sided fabric is the same, but the length of the double-sided fabric is inconsistent. For an adjusted machine, whether it is weaving single-sided fabric or double-sided fabric, the length of the left and right sides must be the same. To solve this problem, the easiest way is to adjust the height of the needle plate and the size of the seam.
1. Adjust the length of single-sided knitting
Flat knitting machines generally have two needle plates at the front and back. Regardless of which needle plate, they can be used to knit single jersey fabric separately. This should be used according to personal habits (most knit single jersey fabrics use the front plate). The front needle bed or the back needle bed must be the same length on both sides of the knitted single-sided fabric.
(1) Adjustment of the front panel (on the side of the body)
If the length of the two sides of the fabric is different, the adjustment method is: first, adjust the needle board of the short side of the knitted fabric upward; second, lower the long side of the fabric knitted through the needle board. Which side needs to be adjusted can be determined according to the seam: the side with the small seam, the needle plate should be adjusted downward; the side with the large seam, the needle plate should be adjusted upward. Specific operation method: At both ends of the front plate, there are two large screws for fixing the needle plate, top plate screws, and two triangular top pieces with graduations. Among them, there is an adjusting triangle top on the side of the triangular top piece. The knurled nut of the film and the screw for fixing the triangular top film. Before adjustment, loosen the screws that fix the needle plate and the top plate screw, and then loosen the screws that fix the triangular top plate, and then rotate the knurled nut of the adjustable triangular top plate to raise or lower the needle plate. After raising or lowering a little, we must knit the single-sided fabric to see if the length is the same. If the length is different, continue to adjust until the length of the knitted piece is the same length on both sides, and then fix each piece. Loosened screws. The reason is this, but it is really difficult to adjust this way. How much the screw is turned, how much the triangle of the top plate goes in, and how much the needle plate is raised or lowered in the end. There is no specific number to measure. It is better to have a method. Can “quantify” how much the needle plate adjusts height, that is, you can “quantify” by adding and subtracting spacers. If the needle plate needs to be raised, add spacers between the needle plate and the triangular top piece, and vice versa. After adding or reducing the spacer, we must first knit and see until the lengths of the two sides of the woven long piece are the same, then fix the needle plate, remove the spacer, and place the triangular top piece against the bottom of the needle plate. , And fix the fixing screws on the top plate of the triangle.
